Rapid's GPUs are specifically designed for helicopters and small to medium sized fixed wing
aircraft. Backed by Rapid's 50 plus years of experience and commitment to quality, they are
compact, easy to operate and extremely reliable.
Our GPUs use state-of-the-art sealed, maintenance-free lead acid Concorde batteries for
engine starting and high intermittent current The batteries in all models are automatically
recharged by the engine generator. The engine generator also provides continuous power for
aircraft servicing without calling for battery power. The battery / generator combination provides
a safe, reliable low ripple power source. This also allows for a compact design using smaller,
more efficient engine generators than other GPUs on the market today.
The weatherproof control panel has easy to read digital LCD meters for voltage, charge
current and current to aircraft. An integral DC control switch transfers power to the DC cable.
The control panel comes complete with all other necessary switches and indicator lights.
For indoor use, the GPU batteries may be charged by the built-in solid state power supply.
The power supply requires 120 or 220 VAC single phase power. A 115VAC or VAC inlet is
provided on each unit.
