Controls
Rapid's switchmode power supply has been designed to be extremely simple to operate and maintain. All output adjustments are made from the control keypad located on the front panel of the unit. Also included on the front panel are:
- Power On/Off switch/circuit breaker
- Voltage and current setpoint selection push buttons
- Up/Down setpoint control push buttons
- Voltage and current mode indicating lights
- Alphanumeric display for voltage and current setpoints
Fault Diagnostics
The power supply features a fault diagnostics protection system to automatically shut down the unit in the unlikely event a fault condition exists. If a fault is detected, the microprocessor first verifies the fault, and attempts to correct the condition. If the fault persists, the power supply will shut down, with a fault message indicated on the alphanumeric display. The fault detection system protects critical components of the power supply from the following conditions:
- Output overcurrent (automatic reset)
- Overtemperature
